Mothers day gift guide
As a mom myself I think every day should be Mother’s Day! I mean we tend to be the ones who keep the household running with our many thankless jobs. It’s not everyday that you hear, “Thanks for cleaning the toilet and making dinner while our toddler was screaming from teething.” But the truth is that can be a pretty typical day for a mom.
Being a mom has also taught me to appreciate my own mother so much more! I am so thankful for having her for all my crazy new mom questions! It also makes me appreciate her putting up with my and my brother growing up a whole lot more.
So when it does come down to buying a gift for your mom (or any mom in your life) for Mother’s Day, it should be something special. Take some time to think about what she may really like and enjoy. Also always take the time to make a phone call or visit if you can!
This is a list of some Mother’s Day gift ideas to help you show the mom in your life how much you appreciate them!

Gifts for the Sentimental Mom
Women love jewelry, especially jewelry that has a special meaning behind it. These beautiful necklaces allow you to personalize them for the special mom in your life. You can choose a necklace that showcases the birthstones of her children, or grandchildren. There are also beautiful bar necklaces that let you customize a message, name or special date on them. I think the key is to pick out something that goes with her own unique personality.
Not into jewelry? There is also this sweet custom made cutting board with a touching recipe and space for a personal message. Great for the mom that loves to cook!
Gifts for the Stressed Mom
Moms can have a lot of stress in their life. What better gift for a stressed out mom than a nice relaxing spa day! So many options are available from massages, manicures, pedicures, facials, and hair or skin treatments. You could either purchase and schedule a day for her or buy a gift certificate so she can create her own special day. I know I love a good massage and pedicure for some much needed rest and relaxation!
Another great relaxing gift is an essential oil diffuser and some nice smelling oils to freshen up their space. This can be a great way to help mom have her own relaxing space at home. Safer than candles and easy to use for a great smelling house. I would just recommend that you make sure to buy good quality oils. I’m not a big oil guru but I would go with either the doTerra or Young Living brands. They both seem to have the biggest support and research out there. The picture below is for a great affordable starter kit from doTerra that is nice to try them out.
Gifts for the Thirsty Mom
As a mom I know I live on coffee (except for when I’m pregnant and sadly can’t have any). I also love fun coffee mugs. Even moms that don’t drink coffee may love tea or hot cocoa. There are lots of uses for mugs. Here are some great ideas for any mom!
Mom not into coffee or mugs in general? There are also these sweet long distance stemless wine glasses that would be perfect for an out of state mom.
Gifts for the Fun Mom
Does your mom love a good joke or laugh? Anything that can bring a smile to her face would make a great gift. These lighthearted gifts will add some fun to her Mother’s Day for sure!
Gifts for the New Mom
Do you know a new mom with a little one at home? A baby probably won’t be going shopping for the perfect gift but finding something special for a new mom can make her day! I love these books that mom can share with her little one over and over showing how much they love their mama!
Gifts for the Picture Loving Mom
I love having pictures of everything, most of all my family! Now that everything is digital I have tons and tons of photos stored and backed up on my computer. Unfortunately I am terrible at actually printing photos, let alone framing them and hanging them on the wall. Make the mom in your life a priceless framed memory for Mother’s Day and they will get to enjoy it every day!
I hope that this list can help you choose the perfect gift for the special mom in your life! Do you have any great gifts ideas for Mother’s Day? Leave your ideas in the comments!
